Cór Cois Abhann is delighted to host Bodals Kammarmor in a Summer Serenade concert at TriskelChristchurch. The programme will include folk, ballad, popular and classical pieces, as well as Swedish and Irish airs. Highlights of the concert will be the piano transcription (for four hands) of the Holberg Suite Op. 40 and music on the T.C. Lewis pipe organ.

On their first visit to Ireland, Swedish choir, Bodals Kammarkor, an SATB choir of over 30 members under the direction of Conductor Ingrid Damstedt Holmberg, will be hosted at Triskel Christchurch, Cork on 18 May by Cór Cois Abhann, Cork.
Bodals Kammarkor sings at church services and organizes its own concerts in Bodal on the island of Lidingo, Stockholm. The choir performs larger musical compositions several times each year and is accompanied by musicians from the Royal Swedish Opera and Swedish Radio Choir.
Conductor, church musician and organist, Ingrid Damstedt Holmberg has led Bodals Kammarkor since 2003.

Cór Cois Abhann (‘the Choir by the River’), founded in 1990, draws its membership from every part of the city of Cork and has, over the years, competed at local, national and international festivals in Cork, Limerick, Sligo, New Ross, North Wales and at Gödöllö Castle, Budapest.
The choir has sung in Cork City Hall, Limerick University Concert Hall, the Waterfront Hall in Belfast and the National Concert Hall in Dublin and has performed large-scale works in association with the Fleischmann Choir, the East Cork Choral Society, the Belfast Philharmonic Choir and Tallaght Choral Society.
Cór Cois Abhann enjoys travelling abroad and has recently performed in Budapest 2007, Rome 2009 and Nice 2011.
Conductor Ian Sexton is an organist and choirmaster, a recitalist and accompanist, examiner, adjudicator and teacher and has directed Cór Cois Abhann since 2004.
